MY PASSION

My passion for JDRF and finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) stems from my personal connection to the disease. I have two amazing siblings with T1D. My brother, Bradley, is 22 years old and has been living with T1D since he was 8 years old. My sister, Taylor, is 15 years old and has been living with T1D since she was 11 years old. T1D is a condition that affects the whole family and it takes a family effort to make life with T1D manageable, healthy and FUN! Being one of eight kids in my family I know from personal experience that it is possible to live a happy, healthy life with T1D. 

OUR MISSION 

As many as 3 million Americans live with Type 1 Diabetes. What's more is that each year another 15,000 children will be diagnosed with T1D and the associated health care costs for Type 1 Diabetics in the U.S. reach over $14.9 billion, according to research conducted by JDRF. 

I have been nominated to be a spokesperson for The ONE Group, a group of 25 young professionals in the metro-Atlanta area with a common goal, finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. We are working very hard to spread the word and raise funds for JDRF's Georgia Chapter. 

The incredible advancements in medical science and technology that make living with T1D easier are a result of fundraising efforts, the famous walks that take place around the country, and YOUR donations! 

Together, with your help and generosity, we can raise the money needed to educate the families who are new to T1D, fund the ever important research and ultimately find a CURE for T1D.
