LIVING AND GIVING HONOREES
The 2011 ‘Living and Giving Award’ will be presented to Penn and Net Payne for their years of exceptional service and dedication to JDRF and the mission to find a cure. Penn, an active arbitrator and mediator, and Net, a retired neurosurgeon, have been loyal champions of JDRF since their daughter Elizabeth Payne was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 20 years ago.
Penn and Net have both served as Committee Chairs and Executive Committee members of the JDRF International Board and as members of the JDRF Georgia Chapter Board. Currently, Net is the Chair of Medical Affairs for the JDRF International Board, as well as serving on the Georgia Chapter Board.
