You may know that I've lived with type 1 Diabetes since I was 17, and other than being a Vanderbilt football fan, it's been one of the toughest struggles I've ever dealt with.
Shots, finger-pricks, seizures - you name it - I've experienced 'em all during my illustrious diabetic career. And though I appreciate the character-building effect these battles have had on me, I feel as if I've served my time, and I'm ready to be cured!
So, I am really excited to announce that I have been selected as a member of Atlanta's ONE Group this year by the JDRF Georgia Chapter. We'll work together to raise money to fight type 1 Diabetes, and then we'll celebrate at The One Party on November 5th at The Estate - where we'll delight in (sugar-free) cocktails, fine (low-carb) cuisine, hot jams (all songs with "sugar" in the title excluded, of course) and dazzling diabetic dancing (i.e. using our insulin pumps as "limbo" apparatuses).
More importantly, each One Group member has made a personal pledge to raise money for type 1 Diabetes (T1D) research, and I'd be honored if you would support me in realizing my personal goal of $5,000. These dollars will help further tilt the fight against T1D in our favor, while bringing us closer to knocking out this disease once and for all.
So thanks so much for considering a donation to JDRF on my (or someone else you know and love's) behalf. Additionally, you can also show your support by buying tickets to join us at The One Party!
Either way, I'm so grateful for your friendship and support, and I hope to see you again soon.
