I am happy to announce that I have been selected as a member of Atlanta's One Group by the JDRF Georgia Chapter. Honorees were selected based on their professional and philanthropic accomplishments, as well as their commitment to making a difference in the communities in which they live and work.

As a honoree, I have made a personal pledge to raise at least $5,000 for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. I would like to invite you to join me in support of this very worthy cause. I would sincerely appreciate any contributions that you can make on my behalf to JDRF. Monies raised will make a tremendous impact in the fight against T1D.

All nominees will be recognized at the One Party on November 5th at the Estate. This exiting evening includes a presentation of honorees, cocktails, fine cuisine, music, and dancing.

I work hand in hand with some of the world leaders in T1D research at Atlanta Diabetes Associates. Some of our clinical trials include immunogenics to prevent the progression and potentially cure persons newly diagnosed with T1D, new pump and continuous glucose sensing technology, and new insulins that may dramatically improve the care and quality of life of those living with T1D. These studies could not be possible without the support of JDRF!

Please help me fight T1D. Donate now, or buy tickets and join me at the One Party!

ABOUT JDRF

JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners and is the only organization with the scientific resources, regulatory influence, and a working plan to better treat, prevent, and eventually cure T1D.

As the largest charitable supporter of T1D research, JDRF is currently sponsoring $530 million in scientific research in 17 countries. In 2012 alone, JDRF provided more than $110 million to T1D research. More than 80 percent of JDRF’s expenditures directly support research and research-related education. In 2012 Forbes magazine named JDRF one of its five All-Star charities, citing the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness.
